Our Chenin blanc based white blend, now in its 8th release, truly expresses the reason why we love white blends. This wine remains old vine focused, but we also include younger vineyards, planted in the right areas. A young Marsanne vineyard in the Western part of the Swartland, gave us a first vintage which we included on a small scale into our Aristargos. We work with 14 different vineyards, still focused on old vine Chenin blanc (and Sémillon and Clairette blanche) scattered throughout the Swartland, whilst still having an anchor in the Paardeberg and its granite soils. The challenging 2017 vintage shows why we do work with blends as the sum of the parts, often outplay the parts on its own.

A blend of 58% Chenin, 14% Viognier, 13% Clairette Blanche, 7% Semillon, 5% Roussanne, and 3% Marsanne and shows a wonderfully complex aromatic profile with orange blossom, fresh hay, yellow citrus, waxy peaches, incense and yellow peaches. Massive breadth and depth, full of vibrance, spicy yellow orchard fruits, marzipan and a sleek, linear granite and salty pineapple finish.
